BEST TIME TO TRAVEL IN TANZANIA

Tanzania is the country located in the East Africa region. It has population density of more than 45 million people. Dodoma being a capital city while Dar es Salaam being a major Commercial city. Tanzania it’s among the richest country blessed to have many tourist destinations points from National Parks, Game reserves, Mountain, Lakes and historical sites.

When is the best time to visit Tanzania and tour on different destinations?

The main reason for many people to ask this question is because of weather and availability of wild animals in the parks and game reserves. The Weather in Tanzania which situated in the Tropic of Capricorn, it varies in its Temperature range with an average of around 30 degree C during the day and dropping to 15 degrees C. The impact of Temperature is both in the Humidity and Annual rains.

The best wildlife viewing months in the parks are during the Dry season from late June to October. But also the best time to see the Wildebeest migration is during the June and July, while during the late January to February is the best chance to see the Wildebeest Calving.

During June to October (Dry Season);

This is the Tanzania’s high season; this is the period of warm and dry days, cool evenings and very little chance of rainfall which is the best time for game drives and walking safaris. On this time most of the parks give a chance to tourists a good chance for viewing wild animals very easy because there a lot of animals and the short grasses almost all over the places. June to July is the best time to see the great wildebeest migration in the Serengeti National Park.

During November to May (Wet Season);

This is another period which called wet season, as for example there is little rainfall from November to December but still the fantastic time to travel. From late January to February, when there is blue skies and sunshine, it’s a best time to see the wildebeest calving in the Southern Serengeti but also it’s an excellent time to see Predators’ actions.

Migratory birds are present, and bird watching is at its best mostly in lake Manyara, lake Eyasi and lake Natron. The long rains begin in earnest in March and continue for most of April and May and the wet season is at its peak on these months and there is real green grass.
